picture post

Getting Logan dressed is no easy task. Sit still and cooperate?!?! no way! So usually it takes a few minutes. Take clothes off while he is running away. Each time he comes back, take off another piece of clothes. when boy is fully naked, get clean diaper on right away. He has pooped on the carpet in the 3.5 seconds it took for me to get him out of the bath, grab a diaper and get back to him in the spare room. After that it becomes a fight. We usually have to pin him down and listen to him scream in horror that we are keeping him from chasing the cat to put socks on him. But the moment you get the jacket on, he is at the door waiting to go wherever we are going.

I was watching that.

He loves cans. We turn the tab to let him play with them. We aren't totally irresponsible.

Logans wubbanub broke. When he saw it, he was so so so sad. It was the first time he experienced what sad actually felt like. He was just studying both pieces and trying to wrap his head around the fact that his best buddy was broken. Luckily he has his giraffe still. Once that goes, good luck to us!

Hair cut! Because his curls grow and grow and grow.

he is starting to enjoy not wearing clothes...

we call this his stage.

shoving a big banana bite in your face, looks like this:

B-A-T-H

If you ask Logan if he wants to take a bath, he will run to the nearest tub and demand to get in. We had a small period of time where he hated having his head rinsed, but we kept doing it and he stopped caring. He plays and plays and plays in the tub. He likes cups or measuring spoons the most. He also loves when you let the water drip out a bit so he can play with it. So bath, has become the first word we have to spell out as to avoid saying it.

16 months

This boy is growing more and more :) Happy 16 months boy!

Most kids can do-
turns the pages of a book: uh, no. He usually cant sit still so he runs off and I read alone
has temper tantrums when frustrated: oh yeah.
becomes attached to a soft toy or other object: his wubbanub. and the blue puppy broke and watching his    face show sadness over it was soooo sad. But he loves his giraffe.

half the kids can do-
discovers the joy in climbing: heck yeah
stacks 3 blocks. Today he got up to 5 of the big ones
uses spoon or fork: he insists on it
learns the correct way to use common objects: he puts the phone to his ear. He puts everything to his ear though. But he can use some things the way they are intended to be used

some kids can do-
takes off one piece of clothing by himself: not fully. He switches his hands when I need his arms out of sleeves and pulls shirts over his head
gets finicky about food: oh yes. Unless its my cooking....
switches from 2 naps to 1: he did a while ago.

Logan and Mommy

im not a blogger

I dont do crafty stuff that is so amazing I need to post about it (maybe Logans stocking will get a post if I finish it) and I dont bake or cook (those candy corn cookies were AMAZING and did get a post) so I have nothing of real interest to anyone who is not family. Family, see my Logan pics on facebook once in a blue moon and im sure they all assume he is doing 15m old baby/toddler stuff. My decorative skills are non existant (Matt went to the mall by HIMSELF to buy decorations for the bathroom and dinning room. The mall! Himself!!).
I could tell the world what we do all day.
Weekend:
Wake up, let Logan play while we drink coffee and let one parent sleep in. Make breakfast. Run an errand or Logan naps. Run an errand after nap or not at all. Dinner. play. Bed.
Weekday:
Same thing but Matts not home so both parents get up. Except usually Matt gets up while I sleep a bit... Hes amazingly awesome at being a dad and husband.
Logan is still a bit young to take to events around here and he is still teething (he only has 6) so he still chews a lot of stuff. Library time is good because Logan has played all morning and is ready to sit and listen. But crafty events or kids museums are still a bit hard when he doesnt understand their fun yet.
But Logan is soooooo silly. He laughs and laughs and laughs. He growls... and laughs! Even when I put on my "im not happy face" and say "LOGAN MATTHEW BARD, NO SIR!" he just laughs. Or starts talking back. Or throws a really small tantrum that lands his head into a wall. It usually ends the tantrum because he looks at the wall "uh... how did you... uh.. get there?" and I laugh so he laughs.... oops. But hes soooo silly. He wants you to laugh and he wants you to make him laugh. I tickle his belly and he eats it up. Giggles galore. "Tickle tickle tickle"! I dont even have to tickle him, just say the words, and he giggles. Now he tickles himself! "Digal digal digal" he says. Everything he does is sooooo cute. But he does everything with a smile, or a giggle.
Logans tantrums so far are a bit sad and pathetic. He just turns and runs when you say no. Usually not looking where hes going but he doesnt usually go far. He stops and gives up. He knows the words "no" but we are not sure that he knows what it means. We tell Logan "NO" to splashing in the dogs water dish (when we forget to move it). Logan starts splashing harder and faster because he knows we are taking it away. So does "NO" mean hurry up im taking that away, or does it mean stop? But he told Snickers "NO" when he was drinking from his own dish... so... Yeah. He knows when we say "no" that we dont want him doing what hes doing. I can say it just fine. Matt can say it too. Grandparents for some reason think they are exempt from having to use this word with grand kids.
Bedtime sucks. He goes to bed just fine (with Matt putting him down). He naps just fine (when i put him down) and his naps have been 3+ hours lately. Hes been waking up earlier and earlier since daylight savings time. I figured our 7:30 mornings, would be 6:30 mornings. Hes been up around 5:30 lately. URG. i think thats why we get a long nap but Im not too happy with it.
Usually I vacuum while Logan is not home or outside with Matt. Today I vacuumed while Logan watched. Hes never been afraid of the vacuum but I dont usually need to vacuum with him around. He was yelling at the vacuum and talking back to him. Then he went to get Matt and grabbed Matts pant leg and tried getting Matt to see what I was doing. "Mommy is actually cleaning dad!" thanks kid. Then he laid down where I was vacuuming and made me vac around him.
Last week, we went to a friends housewarming party. Logan went up to people he didnt know and loved on them, Random people held him and got hugs. I think he enjoyed it because people gave him lots of food. He at a lot of cheese and crackers that night.
Logan is starting to put blocks together and he loves to throw "BAAAs" balls. He LOVES to run. He runs all over the house, chasing the dogs and squealing really loud. He loves his dogs and cats and they all get many hugs a day. Logan LOVES his dad. I am second to dad and have always been. Im okay with that, they are so fun to watch when they interact.
I love him. He makes for a good kid.

15, milestones

Logan is 15 months old today!

Mastered skills that most can do :
plays with ball- Oh yes. rolls them back and forth and throws them. Him and Simon play keep away. Kid can throw good!
uses 3 words regularly- Dada, uh (up), eye key (hi kitty).
walks backward - he can and does. Into a wall usually

Emerging skills that half can do:
scribble with crayon- when I gave him a 12m+ crayon, he ran off with it. He liked his friends magnadodle though and scribbles on that.
Runs- oh yes. Into walls. Its funny. When he throws a fit, he turns and runs and doesnt see what is in his way. Usually the wall ends the fit too, works good!
Adopts "no" as his favorite word-  no way. He cant even say it. He says "yea" to everything. "did you poop?" "yea". "Are you cute?" "yea". "do you want to sleep outside with the bears and the freezing cold?" "yea". "LOGAN!" "yea?"

Advanced skills that few can do:
help around the house- help what? give me something to do all day long? yes. He empties clean laundry baskets onto the floor while I put stuff away.He crunches gold fish into the carpet insuring I vacuum every day. He splashes water all over the kitchen when we forget to move the dopgs water so I have to mop. help? not yet
puts his fingers to his mouth and says "shh"- No

Nascar!

Although Logan only saw about 5 minutes worth of 1 car at a time going around the track, he enjoy his Nascar vacation.

First part of the trip, involved welcoming the big haulers. They were cool and Logan didnt seem to mind watching. Until they blew their horns. Some blew the horn for a second or a few times in a row. The ones that blew the horn non stop scared Logan, and me!

After we welcomed the big trucks, we went to dinner at a near by Casino. By Casino, I mean they had a few pool tables and a handful of slot machines. They also had a restaurant. That had no high chairs. But I always carry my plastic highchair so no big deal. Food was not bad but we say Logan projectile vomit a green bean.

It was cold at night. Really really cold. Logan and I snuggled on the couch turned bed and Matt somehow slept in the top compartment above the drivers seat turned bed. It was cold. And I could hear Matt banging around all night long. And he was cold. and I was afraid Logan was cold so I made sure he was covered but  I didnt want him to get tangled in the covers so I would move them off a little. It was cold. Matt gave up with his bed and we all snuggled every night after that. It was still cold though.

Next morning, we all warmed up with coffee and breakfast. Logan found a new toy on Grandpas head!

For the 5 minutes we watched a few cars qualify, he was not a fan of the noise cancellation head phones.

but later on in the evening, he didnt mind having them on! Probably cause he couldnt hear me and Grandma talking....

We did a charity walk on the track

we walked the track and kept Logan in the stroller but we figured he should at least walk. He wanted to keep running the wrong way so his walking was short lived.

Spaghetti lunch!

Daddy cuddles

While Gram, Gramp, and daddy went to watch the race (we came for a race?), Logan and I had 4 hours to kill in an rv. We walked around outside, kicked a ball around, ate rocks and wanted to steal other peoples cans out of their coolers. Safer to keep him inside but it gets boring. So we tried food. He decided that his new spot was in front of the passenger seat. A little nook he could eat and play in. It was filled with our stuff before we loaded the car to go home so this was new. I bet Grandma had fun vacuuming that spot.

Then he learned how to put things around his neck.

We had fun!
