May has sucked

The beginning of the month was off to a fairly good start. But then Logan was sick. 103.4 fever, runny nose, not his average happy self and in a Tylenol induced state. I can deal with them head cold. When the fever broke, I was thrilled. Until he was tugging on his ear. Okay, I'll call the dr now. Ear infection. Antibiotics, sure. Antibiotics cleaned out poor little Logan's belly but I guess it's bathing suit weather so it's all good. Logan is feeling better just in time for me to feel like crap. I had been planning things for my sis in laws baby shower for a month or 2 and it all boiled down to my Thursday and Friday plans. Wednesday was cleaning day and Logan went to Tori's while I cleaned. Score for clean. Thursday was baking cupcakes and getting decorations and everything ready for set up Saturday morning. Fail. I woke up sick. Power through and get over it. Thursday was spent shopping and erred running. Friday, sick. Fever of 104. Bought cupcakes and sort of cleaned a bit more. Saturday, crap. I felt like I was done for. Shower went okay but all my plans went out he window. Sunday was spent at the park with my niece and nephew, sis in law, friends, and hubs and Simon joined us. I decided I couldn't deal anymore on Sunday. Fever for too long, not eating right, not drinking right and the devastating realization that my child was going to starve unless I gave him formula. A ruined weekend was ruined even more by Logan's first ever formula bottle. He didn't seem to care what was going in the pie hole, he was good. Called dr on Monday when I couldn't swallow without wanting to cry. Tonsillitis. Great. Antibiotics. Sure. In still on my antibiotics but in feeling much better, and Logan is fully functioning too. Unfortunately, we don't seen to be getting back to a no formula routine yet. The bottles are kind of nice. I'm not subjugated to my son flashing my boobs to the world when he is not in the mood to be under a cover. I don't have to stress over whether he got enough milk or when I couldn't pump to replace a bottle he used from the freezer. In okay with it and I'm almost wishing I started sooner. He seems fuller and able to go longer between feeds. I also had to use disposable diapers because he got a yeast rash from the antibiotics. Matt admitted to liking cloth more than disposables. The fact that I never have blow outs with cloth and I had many this past week with disposables makes me enjoy cloth that much more. Now let's address this 5:30am wake up. Logan Bard, your sleep habits suck.

9 months old

0Logan is 9 months old now. One week to go till hes out, for as long as he was in. Time flies, but it has been so so so fun. He plays alone, or with us. He eats good. He sleeps...well, he sleeps. He find everyone to be friendly (even the creepy man at the grocery store) and is usually not too concerned for who's holding him. He has no fears about being away from mommy yet, and there are no issues when I drop him at a friends house once a week for a few hours. He also has no fears. Which make this exploration age very very...er.... bumpy. He got 3 eggs on his head wednesday alone.  But that was a bad day. Usually he just falls or tumbles onto the carpet and doesnt even flinch anymore. We also dont give in to the crying unless he is obviously hurt. So now, when he falls, he just continues about his way. He is not very graceful though. We have play yard pieces blocking the living room in, and gates on the stairs after finding him on stair number 2, going for number 3. He can almost cruise along the furniture and he takes steps when you hold his hands. He has let go and stood for a few seconds at a time but we have a ways to go from walking. He has been babbling a lot and making lots of noises. No really words or talking yet though. The high pitch squeals are fun when your shopping. Luckily hes cute.
Logan is an observer. He looks at everything and always has a curiosity in his eyes that is just so amusing to me. When we go some place new, he is zoned out as if to take in his surroundings. He acts shy, but I think its just his way of paying attention to what is around him. When he has seen everything and is comfortable, he warms up completely. It is then that he smiles, squeals, talks and tries to crawl around.

9 month milestones:

Mastered skills most can do :
Stands while holding onto something - yes, pulls himself up to a standing too.
Jabbers or combines syllables-  He combines his babbling noises, yes. I love when he has an angry face and sounds like hes yelling at me in another language.
Understands object permanence- oh yes. Cant take the remote away and hide it anymore

Emerging skills that half the kids can do:
Cruises while holding onto furniture- Not really yet but anyday now. He can take a step or two but thats it.
Drinks from a sippy cup- not really. He doesnt take most sippys. I give him the straw one and I force the stuff out of the straw and into his mouth. He can drink from a regular cup too when i hold it up to him.
Eats with fingers- Boy can eat just fine
Bangs objects together- oh yes

Advanced skills a few kids can do:
Plays patty cake and peek-a-boo - no? When I put a blanket on his heat, he rips it off and smiles, does that count?
Says "mama" or "dada" to the correct parent - nope.

Play time!

Logan now knows how most of his toys are meant to be used. But, that fun is long gone. Now come the days of using that toy for many other purposes. Our tumbler toys are easy to hold and put where we want. Like on the cable box.

Or on the dog

Which is how we get this.

He talks to the animals. He smiles and squeals for any one of them. Snickers the most because Snickers doesn't give him as much time of day so he plays hard to get.

We are now starting to watch tv. One point for mommy! Too bad he only gets to watch it at 7:30-8:830 while I try to drink a half cup of coffee out of his site.

He loves Simon, and Simon loves him.

He also loves Simons tags.

I made the tag blanket :)

Clean up your toys Logan!

Good eater

Logan is starting to eat many more foods. If it can be made small enough and is chewable, he likes it. Its also a good way to occupy him. He likes milk. We use the sippy with the straw and Im still squeezing the cup for him but hes drinking it and getting the hang of it. Although he probably only manages to drink about 1oz a day.

Pierogis and stuffing.

Nugget and fries

Duck.

Cant hold me down

I start with clothes on.

I then end up not wanting to be still long enough for clothes

So I have less clothes on.

To stay warm, I get covered in a blanket since Im not wearing my clothes.

Sometimes, I have no clothes on. Good luck with me then!
