9 months old

0Logan is 9 months old now. One week to go till hes out, for as long as he was in. Time flies, but it has been so so so fun. He plays alone, or with us. He eats good. He sleeps...well, he sleeps. He find everyone to be friendly (even the creepy man at the grocery store) and is usually not too concerned for who's holding him. He has no fears about being away from mommy yet, and there are no issues when I drop him at a friends house once a week for a few hours. He also has no fears. Which make this exploration age very very...er.... bumpy. He got 3 eggs on his head wednesday alone.  But that was a bad day. Usually he just falls or tumbles onto the carpet and doesnt even flinch anymore. We also dont give in to the crying unless he is obviously hurt. So now, when he falls, he just continues about his way. He is not very graceful though. We have play yard pieces blocking the living room in, and gates on the stairs after finding him on stair number 2, going for number 3. He can almost cruise along the furniture and he takes steps when you hold his hands. He has let go and stood for a few seconds at a time but we have a ways to go from walking. He has been babbling a lot and making lots of noises. No really words or talking yet though. The high pitch squeals are fun when your shopping. Luckily hes cute.
Logan is an observer. He looks at everything and always has a curiosity in his eyes that is just so amusing to me. When we go some place new, he is zoned out as if to take in his surroundings. He acts shy, but I think its just his way of paying attention to what is around him. When he has seen everything and is comfortable, he warms up completely. It is then that he smiles, squeals, talks and tries to crawl around.

9 month milestones:

Mastered skills most can do :
Stands while holding onto something - yes, pulls himself up to a standing too.
Jabbers or combines syllables-  He combines his babbling noises, yes. I love when he has an angry face and sounds like hes yelling at me in another language.
Understands object permanence- oh yes. Cant take the remote away and hide it anymore

Emerging skills that half the kids can do:
Cruises while holding onto furniture- Not really yet but anyday now. He can take a step or two but thats it.
Drinks from a sippy cup- not really. He doesnt take most sippys. I give him the straw one and I force the stuff out of the straw and into his mouth. He can drink from a regular cup too when i hold it up to him.
Eats with fingers- Boy can eat just fine
Bangs objects together- oh yes

Advanced skills a few kids can do:
Plays patty cake and peek-a-boo - no? When I put a blanket on his heat, he rips it off and smiles, does that count?
Says "mama" or "dada" to the correct parent - nope.
